Mission Trail Cider Co.

Growing up in the vineyards of Sonoma County and surrounded by the entrepreneurial wine making spirit from birth, Monte and Victor Jones had farming, and wine making in their blood (their mother gave them accounting and finance, and remains disappointed to this day).

After growing up on the historic El Camino Real, they both left to pursue different careers; Monte to West Point and served as an Army Cavalry Officer then on to business school, Victor to Austin, Texas where he hand-built some of the most recognizable bars, restaurants, and nightclubs in Texas.

The brothers, realizing that they shared similar long-term goals, made their way back to the mission trail and began developing their own vineyards and orchards down the road from Mission San Antonio in Southern Monterey County.

The homestead is a sprawling ranch nestled in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains just over the Coast Range from Big Sur. With views for a hundred miles, they have brought one of the most stunning mountain vineyards to the region.

In addition to grapes, they planted one of Southern Monterey County’s largest producing tree-fruit orchards. Rolling fog from the Salinas Valley and Big Sur blankets the ranch every morning, providing ideal conditions to grow some of the finest fruit on the California Central Coast. Hand built by the brothers, no shortcuts were taken in creating this homestead, just as there are no shortcuts in the cider we make.

They entered the cider market in August of 2014 with the release of their Champagne Style Heirloom Hard Cider. Soon after was the release of the only 100% California Plum Jerkum, 100% California Perry, and Diehard Apple Cider.

Each cider is made once per year with fruit direct from the orchard. Mission-Trail never uses concentrate, flavoring, artificial ingredients, or coloring. We are proud to make honest and unique ciders that customers can find nowhere else.
